The Cottage Brewery’s Rail Ales are available all year.

While making steady growth progress over the years, care has always been taken to ensure that the quality of the ales has been retained. The brewery has a large portfolio of award winning ales, all of which are brewed with interesting and prominent hop aromas. The brewery has a reputation for not sparing it’s hops!

Southern Bitter  ABV 3.7%

The Champion Standard Bitter at the 13th S.I.B.A. Maltings Beer Festival. A light, refreshing, copper coloured session bitter.  Full bodied with a distinctive hop aroma and finish. Very drinkable.

Broadgauge Bitter ABV 3.9%

A light coloured session bitter, brewed with Progress, Challenger and Styrian Goldings hops to give a floral aroma and a balanced bitter finish.

Champflower Ale ABV 4.2%

Our Head Brewer’s favourite, light chestnut in colour and well balanced, this award winning ale is full of flavour with a lingering bitter finish.

Somerset & Dorset Ale ABV 4.4%

Named after the Somerset & Dorset Railway, S&D is a well hopped, malty beer with a deep red colour.

Golden Arrow ABV 4.5%

Gold medal winner at the 14th Maltings Beer Festival and silver medal winner at the Great British Beer Festival.  A light golden colour with a distinctive floral hop flavour and aroma.  A refreshing, thirst quenching pint.

Goldrush ABV 5.0%

The champion strong ale and supreme champion beer at the 13th S.I.B.A. Maltings Beer Festival. A deep golden ale, brewed with Cascade hops, well balanced, crisp and refreshing.
